Julie was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in October 2017, and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Nomination & Governance Committee, as well as a member of the Risk and Finance & Investment Committees.

Julie joined jetBlack Business Solutions as the Director of Legal Affairs for the Group in September 2018 responsible for the Group’s legal operations, bringing over 29 years’ experience in commercial and corporate law to the Group.

A distinguished advocate of the High Court of Kenya and managing partner of Ardeller and Associates Advocates, Julie joined the Board of JetBlack Group in 2017.

She has held senior executive public policy and regulatory affairs positions – Diageo – East African Breweries, British American Tobacco East & Central Africa.

Other senior positions held were at the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, Kenya Wildlife Service and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Julie brings a wealth of experience to the board, with solid leadership and people management skills, delivering exceptional results in developing sustainable corporate, legal and regulation strategy, supporting organizational development. Being a startup, Julie’s role remains key in supporting the Board in its stakeholder engagement management, driving legal strategies that support futuristic and innovative thinking. She is an experienced lawyer specializing in corporate and commercial law. Having worked extensively in Sub-Saharan Africa, Julie continues to support the overall business strategy and provide legal guidance to the Board.

Julie is also a Director at Signified Group International a gender and diversity consulting company in Africa, a Director at Royal Manufacturers Limited, and Jumon Africa Limited, a consulting firm. She is also an active leader in the Church and the Children’s pastor at Omega Fire Ministries Kenya.

Julie holds an LLB Degree, Hons from the University of Nairobi, Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Final year student Executive MBA – Finance from the University of Nairobi.
